New Stats/Neue Statistiken

We had the 6 month check up today. I was worried that Niklas didn't grow or gain any weight. When we were in Germany he showed no weight gain in a month and the German doctor was somewhat accusing us of bad parenting. Turned out that Niklas did gain some weight since then.

Here are the new statistics:

Weight:
14 lbs 14 oz / 6750 g
10th percentile

Height:
28.25 in / 72 cm
90th percentile
NOTE: We think there was an error in the measurement and that Niklas is no longer than 27.5 in / 70 cm

Head Circumference:
17.2 in / 43.75 cm
(50th percentile)

And here are some pictures:

Niklas loves the new hat and jacket from Uroma Greti!

What shall I do with those legs?

Getting ready for a hike.

John likes to challenge Niklas.
In this video Niklas is sitting on a 1 kg can of mixed nuts. I eat about one can each week...

Deutschland 2009

First things first - a visit to Andechs where the monks brew John's favorite beer and roast the best Schweinshaxn in the whole world. It was the traditional birthday present from my parents to John. Niklas loves Tante Vroni!Opa, Oma, John and Niklas on a walk along the Starnberger See. John said he would buy me a Villa on the shore - I'm still waiting...

We started another walk straight from my (Andrea's) parents house:

John got a cold and gave it to Niklas. Niklas was sick for at least 10 days. He was very weak, whined a lot and slept for the most part of the day. Here Niklas takes a nap on Opa.

Another walk from my parents house with Christian und Vroni:

My parent's yard.

Schloss Fussberg (castle) and the Wuerm (creek through Gauting) across from my parent's home.

Niklas' great-grandma went through great efforts to meet him. She is 92 and came all the way from Lasberg/Austria to meet Niklas!!! We were so happy to see her! Unfortunately Niklas was very sick that day and we were sleep deprived.

Finally Niklas gets to sleep on Oma again!

Christmas Eve with real candles on the tree! Oma, Vroni and Andrea (with Niklas in the Moby) decorated the tree on the 23rd while John and Opa went out to drink beer.

Christmas Eve - presents for Niklas.
We wanted to celebrate Christmas without presents but decided that each one of us would get one gift for one family member. We raffled the names a few weeks earlier and all of us got great presents! Thank you!

Christmas Day - of course we celebrate it all. Oma made a delicious turkey meal - the bird came fresh from their organic farmer.

Even though Niklas is still sick, he enjoys playing with Opa - here he is riding the ferris wheel.

Here we are joking around.

Look - Herr Frosch got new pants for Christmas! Danke Tante Martina!

Walk along the Wuerm to the restaurant.

After about an hour we arrived at the restaurant.

Watch out John!

Oma knows that Niklas loves lights.

If he can't reach it with the hands he gets it with his feet. Niklas does that to get his hands on toys quite a bit now.

We're starting to feel a little bit better. Unfortunately we forgot our camera when we went bowling with Opa, Oma, Vroni and Christian but we had a ton of fun!

Bear leg tastes good!

Now that Niklas is well again it is time to say good bye.

YES, we are still in Germany (at the airport in Munich).
Vielen Dank fuer den wunderschoenen Urlaub! Wir haben euch alle ganz arg lieb!
